NEW - HEPATITIS COMMUNITY FORUM

Dear Friends,

Sometime today, we are going to open a new HEPATITIS COMMUNITY FORUM!  The Hepatitis Community Forum will be the place to communicate and share support with other people who have been touched by Hepatitis.

The HEPATITIS FORUM (this forum) will now become the place to post medical questions and comments pertaining to hepatitis information and research ONLY.

Please give the new forum a chance to get up and running and then send us your comments and suggestions regarding the changes!  Thanks for your patience and continued support!!

Happy Friday!

It IS a good idea to split.

We just cannot know how many newbies are discouraged by very educated discussions we are practicing here. Our discussions have been spiraled towards higher scientific levels. After all that years studying and analyzing and discussing medical stuff we are delved in another thinking with another language which is not bad or good but is just the fact. Maybe this subculture is just the right way to gain deeper insights, but can be felt too difficult by many people who share no ambitions with us to investigate anything but rather want just to experience fellowship and community to cope with their situation.

I think community is a good idea, which could open up new channels for some "unmet needs". And old veterans should be able to find a positive role in the new community group as well.

I don't expect much changes for the remaining "researcher" group either...

Come on, there are chatters, then there are chatters! Not all of us who who like to chat....play headgames and slag each other...in fact, I've taken more then enough heat when I've defended some people being slagged here, including myself, ha ha!...

To me there are lots of different personalities here, (of course there would be) and some of those personalities like to indulge in chat e.g joking around, etc (which can be designated as a form of support, we don't always want to talk about Vertex or blood values within the same post) AND debate current hepatitis c treatments, issues, etc as well...it's really kinda hard to parse out what exactly belongs where, hence this latest discussion...

If you are talking about say, Vertex in a post, and in that same post, you ask about a person's daughter? Where is that post supposed to go? there's the rub...so, it would seem, that you will have a lot of posts that prob will be designated as a "community posts" that have within them, a lot of hep c discussion...

Which makes me think, that maybe, the posts in the "medical forum" will be devoid of any other type of discussion at all..which is okay by me, see how it works out...might work out just fine...I'm no fortune teller...

It's a very bad idea. Hep c and tx affect every aspect of one's life. There are all sorts of everyday repercussions and emotional problems involved. You can't separate the head from the heart. I'm glad the forum was here when I was treating. I'm sorry it can't continue.

Were not doctors. What sort of advice can we give if not our own experience. Our experiences are rather emotional at times - not always coldly scientific.

Too bad. A mistake. I hope they'll reconsider.
