hep c and ocd

Hi!
ok so i suffer from O.C.D and have recently been scared of the hepatitis C virus. I know this will sound completely ridiculous to most of you but i was wondering if the virus can be transmitted through my dogs...i took them for a walk yesterday and they were sniffing around heaps of things and a dead bird ... when i got home one of my dogs may have sneezed on or licked my towel which i then very hesitantly used later as i am trying to overcome my O.C.D....but now i am very scared i could get something that may have been transferred from either his tongue or snout

I think dogs can transmit all kinds of nasty things but not HCV. Definitely not, no way at all! Sorry about the OCD. It's probably good to be cautious about the dogs and germs but not, not, not about HCV. I don't really know how you hooked onto that idea. HCV is only passed via straight human to human transmission via direct contact of blood.

No! It is not possible. Hepatitis C is a blood borne disease and only transmitted from humans to humans. Some infected blood would have to come in contact with a cut or a wound. I have had hep c for many years without knowing it and was pregnant with five children.Neither my husband nor any of my children have hep c. So you see, it is not that easily transferred.

I wish you good lunch with treating your OCD. May you be cured soon.
