No you cannot catch hepatitis C from swallowing. You can only catch it from blood-to-blood mainly drug users using needles. there's only a 2% chance of contacting it through sexual intercourse without a condom your safe I had a boyfriend for many years and he had it and I didn't and I don't have it.

That's a good question.

From a review/opinion article:
Assisted procreation in cases of hepatitis B, hepatitis C or human
immunodeficiency virus infection of the male partner
Honeck et al, Human Reproduction Vol.21, No.5 pp. 1117–1121, 2006

The risk for sexual transmission is higher for women than men, but in comparison with other viral infections, the risk is low. For HCV-discordant, monogamous couples,
the rate for seroconversion after 10 years is only 2.5% (Neumayr et al., 1999; Zylberberg et al., 1999). The risk of late sequelae though makes the use of condoms to protect the
healthy partner feasible (Valdivia et al., 2003)

In English, the pertinent parts of the article:
Virus is present in low amounts in semen
The rate of sexual transmission seems to be very low
Use condoms anyway.
If you wanna get pregnant, see the obgyn first for sperm wash.

If he is on treatment, ribavirin is also found in the semen. RIBAVIRIN can give your baby birth defects - probably better to hold off on swallowing if so.

Alcohol mouthwash like listerine after exposure  may give some protection.

Getting semen in the mouth can potentially be dangerous: the gums often have small cuts especially after vigourous toothbrushing.

In short: probably better off NOT getting semen in mouth or swallowing.

He is a lucky man to have a woman devoted enough to ask. Enjoy, both of you!

The chance are so very super slim...

He would have to have blood in his semen - and you would need to have an open wound where his infected blood mingled into your blood stream.

However - with that said ----

SPIT!!!!!

SPIT!!!!!

SPIT!!!!!!

ROFLMAO!

I don't think so. Don't do it again and get tested. I'm pretty sure your ok. I've been clear for 2 years now. My wife has not had any issues with contracting the virus. Trinity4 - you responded.....

Take care of your Husband and family -- it isn't an easy ordeal.

My guess is no, since it requires blood to blood contact.  I would also imagine even if you swallowed blood, that stomach acids would destroy the virus.  Not positive though about that.   You may want to get yourself checked though for other possible risks factors such as sharing razors, toothbrushes etc.

I'm sure others will contribute their imput.
