Call request a test, ask for a hepatitis panel and put this behind you.
I appreciate everyones comments. My story is long, and I have spent thousands of dollars trying to figure out what is wrong with me. Basically I messed around with a girl heavy foreplay no penetration or direct contact, but just me in my boxers, her naked grinding. I found out later that she was on her period which gave me concern about blood contact.
My orignal symptoms were far from Hep C, I basically had a few painful/burning pimples on my penis and burning down my leg. The pimples and nerve issues on my inner leg resided after about 10 weeks. I orignally was diagnosed with Herpes and thought that was what I had. Valtrex didn't have any effect and 3 blood tests have now come back negative for HSV last one at 9 months. Negative on Claymidia, gohnorea, Syphillis, and HIV at 5 months. This was after a course of anti-botics for something else, so not sure if something cleared on it's own during that 5 month span.
Now I have stomach issues/stool isssues and issues sitting, it is sometimes painful like my perrenium is swolen (day to day severity). My docs told me the bumps were just benign cysts now, and that my stomach and perrenium are due to irratable bowl syndrome, but that is bull-****. I'm really grasping at straws at this point hoping I can figure out what was/is wrong with me to move on with my life. My docs say it is safe to have sex, but until I figure out what the f is going on in my body I just don't think I am ready.
For peace of mind just get the test it would be so much easier to get it over with since the chance if very low that you have it anyway.
Thanks for your emphasis. Of course, any blood to blood contact is a possible transmission for Hcv or any other Std, for that matter.
Wtf : Trish is 100% correct. You cannot determine hcv pos or neg by your Alt/Ast level.
You have to be tested. call request a test if you need a place for testing.
Jakied: "Hep C is usually transmitted by blood transfusion, before 1990, and drug use. "
I know you said "usually"... I just want to note that while these are the most common routes of transmission to date, any form of blood to bloodstream transmission is applicable. Needles from tattoos, sharing razors, dental or medical procedures where they've used improper sterilization techniques, injuries on the job, anything that causes blood to bloodstream transmission.
I wouldn't want anyone to be thinking that if they didn't have a blood transfusion or have not been an IV drug user, that they're in the clear. Just for those folks who'd skip over the "usually" .. :)

wtf ...
Normal ALT and AST levels are not an accurate indicator of Hep C infection and neither are symptoms of any kind. Many of us on this forum, including me, can tell you I had NO symptoms, very healthy, normal ALT and AST. However, I did have Hep C. It's called the Silent Killer for a reason....often displays no symptoms until the damage is well advanced. I was lucky enough to find out because my doc threw the Hep C test into the mix while confirming a prior diagnosis that my Hep B was cured and leaving me immune and non-contagious to Hep B.
I don't know what your event was with this girl, you don't say anything about your symptoms, however on your question of normal ALT and AST...that tells you nothing about whether you have Hep C or not. Get tested for Hep C if your "event" included any possibility that her blood entered directly into your bloodstream.
Trish
Hep C is not a Std and is only rarely transmitted by sexual activity. Sexual
transmission, when it happens, is usually male to female.
First q: What is your Ast/Alt level?
Hep C is usually transmitted by blood transfusion, before 1990, and drug use.
Second q : What are your symptoms?
If I were you, i would get tested for hep b and c antibody. The result, after none months,
would be conclusive. Call 'request a test' at 1888-732-2348. I have a feeling you will be
neg but I would want to know.
