Hi I have alot of pain post treatment 1.5 year and I personally believe it is from the treatment itself. I went to Rheumatologist who said I have arthritis bursitis and fibromyalgia she gave me neuronton and ultram both of which help with the pain but not the joint stiffness. I have also developed hard knots on my hand joints and was told that the are calcium deposits.Does anyone else have anything like this after treatment.I did 1 year of peg and riba but never reached undetected..
Hi Bug, sorry I missed your post before surgery.
I am hoping all went OK. As you may remember I went through TX as my spine condition worsened two years ago - and still UND BTW. Last Nov. had the X Stop implant put in, but only helped the leg pain, not the severe L4 L5 pain. Surgeon would not do fusion because platelets never recovered from TX (90 highest, was as low as 24)! I thought could have done PLT transfusion, but said if long operation still may have swelling and damage nerves. Please post after surgery and let us know you are better!
Missy, I can attest that pain can certainly become worse on and after TX. Mine was easily doubled from the combo drugs. I have a wonderful hep doc and never held back with pain meds. To this day still use a fentanyl patch - 75 along with duladid for break through pain. Patches are nice as to regulating releif and last three days, but NOT as effective as oxy. Nsaids do not do much for moderate to severe pain and can certainly strain or damage your liver.
Good luck,
Julia
I have severe migrains, have had them for years. My PCP, GI qand now the clin. Pharm. on my case giev me " Roxicodone" It is a pain med yet has no tylenol or anything Just pain med. I am stage 4 so there is a way to not have to feel bad all the time. Good luck
I have severe DJD thanks to my age (55) and job for the last 27 years, (physical therapy)
I complained of pain and inability to sleep to my PCP for the last 2 yrs. Recent
MRI tests revealed herniated discs in my neck and back, but still my dr wouldn't prescribe narcotics. I developed a foot drop and numbness in my right arm and the neurosurgeon did a CT myleogram that showed I have pressure on my spinal cord and I'm facing surgery Thursday.
No one offered anything but a steroid injection and a steroid pack, but I finally went to a quack dr who is a pain pill pimp.
I now have an endless supply of hydrocodone, and I try to use it wisely and only for pain relief when I have to.
I don't know what kind of pain you are experiencing, but I know it's frustrating to have chronic pain without relief.
I can't say that my pain is from tx, I ended 2 years ago but I think that's just more of a coincidence that it all started after tx.
Good luck, the one drug I liked Arthrotec is a anti-inflammatory that has a built in protection for the stomach. My dr told me it has a lot of side-affects (drop in platelets) and would only let me take it for a week. It's non-narcotic, but for the week I was on it, I was wery satisfied with the relief I got.
Take care,
Bug
