What tier are the drugs for treatment considered?  My prescription coverage only covers up to Tier 3 drugs.  Can you purchase a supplemental pharmacy insurance ? i have geno 1a

In Nov 2011 I found out I had HIP C  type 3 my Insurance would not cover my drugs I was on Peg and Rib for 24 weeks. It would only cover tier 3 also. I was told the drugs were tier 5 . But I think Rib is now tier 3 not sure. peg is teir 5. I  was told by my prescription drug provider I had to pay for mine in KY. The PEG was around $3300. a month I tried to get help but was not able to find any. The RIB was around 800.00 or so for a  month or 4 weeks. When I called to get help the first question  I was ask if I was on Medicare due to my age I was . I was told there was no help unless I was on Medicade had no money and  no savings  then i could get  it free and also get a  free medical card. I did not qualify for that. I carry a suppliment to medicare for my Dr it pays what Medicare dont and then I have to pay for a prescription drug plan. Since it was almost the end of the year and you can change your drug  plans at that time I waited till Jan 2012 and started my treatment.  Then I changed my drug plan and got some help with that. I spent out pocket for my 2 drugs around 5500.00. Depending on your age and finances you have to check around see if something is available.  I think each state is different in what they offer. I have been told the INV is pretty exp. I am glad I did not have to take it.
I hope you find help it is so very expensive
