Great...but just Sovaldi?
I never really experienced the riba rage (very lucky) during tx but I completely FLIPPED OUT when my pharmacy told me (at week 3 of 12) that I wouldn't be "eligible" for the last 8 weeks of meds because some insurance ****-up. I got it straightened out but took a few days, a very long few days.
Anyway, if you can try to get your next 4 week supply sorted out asap so it dosen't come down the the wire, you'll sleep better, (if this is possible for your situation).
Very happy to hear it's working out. Stay strong.
Cheers, Verdugo.
Oh I am glad it worked out for you, one less thing for you to deal with. Fight on dragon slayer!
Only had issue with sovaldi pharm claimed it went up 5000 so that makes it 89 000 for twelve weeks . But all st now ☺️
B: Did they ever say:
1. What the problem was?
2. If the price really went up across the board?
Comgratulations on getting the approval!!!
Pat
Yay!
I can't imagine how stressful this must have been during
treatment and I am glad you got it straightened out!
Good news. I saw a post about this earlier but it seems to
have disappeared.
I think Patra asks a really good question about wondering what
the real problem was especially if this might happen again or
with your other meds. It really pays to mediate with the doctor's
office, the insurance company and the specialty pharmacy (which
I am unclear if there is one in this case).
My pharma,CVS Caremark, specialty rx, called me to let me know my prior authorization was due to expire and would I mind them sending my final 4 wks of O/S early to avoid having to jump through the hoop with a new prior authorization.Of course I said send it out. Just thought it was real nice of them and saved me and my doc from reapplying and all the possibilities that would entail.Very grateful.
Never really got to the bottom of it all , they had it approved by ten this morning . Guess it is all very dependent on the health coverage one has
I had bluecross ,and my health source R.I. And the specialty pharm. working on it 3:30 yesterday afternoon .resolved by 10:30 am . It was actually Walgreens speciality pharm. who told me it was a medication price increase so needed to be approved again . Co pay stays the same max for specialty drugs . That is another bee in another bonnet .errr!
Don't think my pharm would allow it . They won't even let you preorder before certain date . But I will be calling them ahead of time to check on things ,just incase
Hello, Buba. I had a conversation with the speciality pharmacy about that same problem before I started tx. When my 1st shipment was being delivered, I mentioned that my insurance had kicked back an increase of $26 for different GERD med. an that I was surprised that they had so quickly authorized 3 mths. Of Solvaldi. He said at that point I had only been authorized for 4 week (1 bottle). Of course I had lots of concerns about that. He said I could delay starting the actual an get 2 bottles in my possession then, start on tx.. That way the last bottle would be guaranteed because pmt. would already be approved, thereby making sure I received the entire . He also said he had never run across that problem. I thought I was paranoid , so just went ahead an started immediately. Then to hear the stressors they have put you through. I'm so sorry you had to go through that. That is certainly cruel. Good luck with the rest of your treatment. Mary
What a ridiculous situation! To put liver patients, hep c patients through all this crud when they ALL know stress will increase viral loads! It makes me so mad! Good luck. I hope you all getter sorted out. You realize the general public has no clue what we are all going through? More people die from Hep C then from AIDS! Yet everyone now knows about HIV.
If you can, volunteer to be sources for your local news outlets when they need quotes from patients! It's the only way to get the cost down and get rid of this virus. Dbz
Best to you all!
I am so glad this was resolved. I stressed with both refills waiting for insurance reauthorizations... It is cruel to put us through that kind of stress... Why would they want to throw away 2 months of treatment costs by not giving us what we need to complete treatment!!!
Ok- done with rant... Still have Riba running round my system!
Again, I'm so glad it turned out in a positive way! Take care!
