Privacy Issues in School-Advice Needed ASAP

Today is the start day for Eric, my son. He took his riba this morning and handed a note in from doc, who has told us he does not have to disclose anything. It just said that he is undergoing treatment and on medication for a medical condition that requires he drink water round the clock and requires he be allowed to drink during class, work, etc.  The nurse just called me and asked what treatment he was on and if he had hep C. I said I would prefer to speak with Eric's dad before answering any questions - just for lack of anything to say. Her tone was not pleasant and as I am at work couldnt talk anyway. Advice?

I Yi Yi...
That's a tuff one because ( I have not had to deal with a child in school on this) however having been on the treatment itself I know how difficult it can be at times, & I am not just talking about cencentration ect.... I am talking about a drop in the hemo counts & what if he starts feeling FAINT at PE or something.... that nurse could turn out to be you biggest advocate, & if she is aware then possibly could have him come in the office/clinic & laydown or something...

She does not have the right to disclose any info that you give her... Maybe make an appointment & have you & his father go in & talk to her & voice your concerns & privacy issues...????

Sometimes a tone on the phone can come across wrong..???

Just a thought!

It will be interresting to see others take on this!!!

Hang in there!
