Thankfully my insurance is covering this, otherwise there would be no way for me to afford it. The cost for this treatment is over $84,000.00 for a 12 week course; so clearly that out of reach for nearly everyone. The side effects so far have been fever, chills, nausea, no appetite, moodiness, mouth sores, etc. I think it is doable though. Good luck to you.
Hello there. When I treated I found that the first shot was the worst. While I never felt well, I did not get the same side effects of that first shot again.
I figured it was because it was a shock to the system, similar to what you feel like when first getting the flu. I did my shots on Friday after work so that I would hopefully feel better by Monday. I usually could go in on Tuesdays :)
Hang in there. The good new is the tx is much shorter than the old 48 weeks

I just finished the same Tx. The good news is it is only for 12 weeks, the bad news is what you are suffering is par for the course. That being said the Sx are manageable, so plan accordingly. Make sure you are drinking enough water. Half your weight in ounces plus extra if you drink any coffee. 140 lbs =70 oz. Plus keep eating small meals with fat in them during the day. Your body needs both to counteract the Sx. Try nuts, cheese, etc. Search the site for more info and tips. Good luck.
