Rage 2

Hey group, I am lovin our discussion about the spiritual aspects of our HCV. I do believe that the perspective of emotional health is important in the mind/body experience of recovery. I read these stats and graphs, yet we do not discuss the cosmic themes. Folks jump on the soapbox that I am preaching religion and that isn't so. I am asking "Can I transcend the facts of disease and perhaps think outside the box?  Does it matter?

Thinking outside the box has helped me in many ways throughout my life.
Thinking outside the box is what will make curing this disease a reality, without interferon treatment, in the future.
Whether or not you can transcend this disease may have more to do with how it impacts you personally.
However, this topic really should be on the social side of this forum.

Can't discuss the religious aspect on the medical or social forum as per MH rules.

I do believe the mind has a lot to do with healing but not sure if this is the right place to discuss the religion aspect to HCV. I think this may fit better on the Hepatitis Social/Living with Hepatitis forum.

I am a big believer in attitude changing circumstances, whether caused spiritually or not. Be your own friend and forgive yourself. It is the least you can do, especially if you are the one that harmed yourself. Make up for it by being your own friend. We all need friends and you need to see that you are deserving of being your own.

Good luck!

There are various cancer studies that have proven that a positive attitude can raise cure rates.  Many discuss the importance of decreasing stress, adding laughter and relaxiation. My brother meditates when he is ill.  I don't know what he meditates on or how he does it, but he swears by it.  This is not a Christian perspective as many religions embrace this idea, as well as those considered "New Age."  There is definately a spiritual component to  our humanity and I have experienced great strength from tapping into it in my own way.  Since I am a Christian, I pray for strength and a good outcome and that helps me handle my tx distresses.  However one taps into their spiritual side, I believe they will benefit in some way.  I don't believe there is just one way to tap into  that resource of strength, one only has to  do it and believe.
