SVR

well I finally went and got my blood checked 10 month's after treatment, so for all of you out there
who love the statistics
SVR ---HCV RNA not detected
don'know how I contracted it but I did everything you could ever do to get it (tatoos, transfusions, intr. drug use in the 70's)
probably had it for well over 25 years
genotype 1A  baseline---- viral load 1,100,000 , mild inflamation , no substantive fibrosis, mild symptoms
weight - a little heavy ,no smoking ,no drugs, drank a few beers now and then
treatment- 48 weeks ribavarin 1200 daily Pegasys 180ug week - I was able to work through treatment w/out any missed time, but wasn't easy and I couldn't do much physical work - heavy depression during tx - cleared
during 2nd month, didn't lose any hair or weight, red & white blood cells way down but no procrit
Post Treatment- feel pretty good physically but has been a long haul, I really think my cognitive skills have taken a
beating but there wasn't much there to start with
anyway thanks to all those on this site, it was certainly a source of information and comfort during treatment-
best of luck and some prayers to all of you
don't give in
Andy
