I have been a nonresponder since I was diagnost with hep C back in
1992 and I have been on all of the interferons up to date. Treat it like the flue. I used to feel so bad that all I wanted to do is stay in the bed.
Some people handle it differently. It helps to take some type of cold medicine that gets rid of aches, pains, and headaches 1 hour before
you take your meds. I went though depression, mood changes, anger
lost of weight. It got better with time for me but it was not easy. I have friends that could not continue. Of course if you make that decision there is nothing else out there yet, but there are clinical trials going on for non responders like me and you. I am waiting for something new
I am a patient of the Nat'l Institute of Health(NIH) where clinical trials are
performed. Force yourself if you can drink plenty of fluids and talk to you doctor and let him/her know whats going on with you every step of the way. The reality is that some of us cannot handle it. I've seen both sides. People that handle it ok and others that had to stop. I was wondering if I should try it again. I have not tried it since I had my transplant. Dont really know if it will make a difference with this new liver See my comments to Mike.........Dan

When you say 2yr non-responder, do you mean you came off tx 2 years ago?   And I'm assuming you did 12 weeks tx.

There are so many variables around the state of your liver and whether you're currently seeing a Hepatologist or getting regular blood tests and scans.   HVC can cause other conditions as can the tx.    I'm so sorry you're having a rough time - perhaps your local doctor would be a good starting place;  don't let him put it down to HVC alone - get checked for arthritis etc and look at getting a scan or referral back to the hepatologist.  I hope you have some success  (I was a relapser years ago and did have aches for sometime which eventually rectified - my liver was in better condition way back then)...  Good luck.
