Incevik before food or after food.

I know Incevik need to be taken within 30 minutes of taking 20 grams of fat, but can it be taken before food, after food or in between.

I know we need to follow schedule strictly. My schedule of taking incevik is 7:30AM, 3p and 10:30pm.

But sometimes, after crapy nights, I have hard time eating before 7:30. I wander if I can eat some before and after taking pills at 7:30, so that I don't mess up my schedule.

All great answers my dear friends. Ok have no choice but get my butt up at 7 am in the morning, eat whatever I can get down and take the pills after. I have 3 more weeks to go! I take Nexium on empty stomach and Zofar whenever I feel nauseous to to prevent from bloating and throwing up. I wouldn't be able to handle this without these two. This fat taking has been biggest suffering of my life so far. Hate to wake up every morning, when I am not hungry and have to shove in food I don't' want... Somedays I take 1 tablespoon of olive oil (14G) and wash down with i glass of fresh squeeze carrot juice. Then I add 6 g of little something such as bread butter and jam. I can't eat handful of nuts. I add nuts to ice-cream or to mu muffins. I am sure all of us are creative our own way, whatever our body can tolerate and accept.

I had the same question early in tx, and for the first 2 weeks I occasionally took the pills followed by the food. After that I found authoritative literature that made it clear that the food should go in first, followed by the pills. Unfortunately, I can't remember where that was written, only that it was a convincing (to me) source. It probably isn't going to be an issue if you take at least part of the food first, but you seriously should not take the Incivek on an empty stomach. The full 20 grams of fat is really important too, so read the food labels and do the math carefully. If you don't get enough fat your body will not absorb enough of the drug, which is bad in two ways, 1) the virus gets a break and 2) your anal region takes more punishment. Good luck!

I would eat peanut butter with an apple and take the pills as I was eating or directly after eating.  I had been told to take within 30 minutes of eating
You are doing pretty good with 8 weeks under your belt
Take care

☞ Take 2 INCIVEK pills (a dose) 3 times a day; Eat a meal or snack that contains about 20 grams of fat, within 30 minutes before you take each dose of INCIVEK ☚

★I usually took my dose before but there were many times I took my dose during. To be honest, I feel uneasy saying it is OK to deviate from the directions. Perhaps someone who attained SVR with Incivek can say they did it and it was no problem. Or maybe post a study that indicates it is acceptable.★

Trust me I understand the Incivek fat requirement is flat out disgusting. Like you I cannot stand eating in the morning so it was a chore for me to figure out what to consume with my morning dose. I encourage you to find something you can tolerate rather than trying to manipulate the dose instruction. ISorry, I relaize this is probably no help but you are on week 8 (Yay for you!) and you have come a long way.☀

A small handful of almonds or walnuts has the right amount of fat.

Hang in there♫

Not recommended to take on an empty stomach, and the drugs get into your system with that fat.  So take the meds after eating.
