You might be surprized how much the side effects have improved since early 2000, I was. I first underwent treatment 1999-2000.
I started TX again on Sept 2nd 1011- due to end 2-13-2012 with Incivek
I have been able to function well and have had limited side effects except for mild rash.
After experiencing the horrible side effects, (pre-Pegasus), of Interferon I dreaded this TX again but it has been mild and very do-able.
Best wishes...
Hi sweetie, whatever is wrong ? Please don't be sad , if there is anything I can do let me know I am here for you . Everything will be ok , we are here for you .
oh sorry... is tight. I'll do anything for it. I'm fragile and things are happening here at home. but I have to overcome ...

Ok I'm taking any sun I can now. I'm tanned and bought many oils and skin creams to pass ... the skin is very painful? aging?
First 12 weeks kept me completely in bed with my 13-yr-old feeding and caring for me. Post Inc wayyyyyyyy easier. Most of time I can do normal things and sides always there, but mostly manageable. Although mentally, it's getting tougher.
Be careful of the sun, I did a trip to sunny place and learned a lesson. I still enjoyed getting away. Lots a sunscreen
thanks for the positive words that makes me feel better. I'm a litlle afraid with all this. I hope that six months are enough ... see ya !!
That's been my husband's experience too. Sfx seem to come and go with no rhyme or reason.
I started triple tx Oct 27, and I will be going to Maui for two weeks the end of March. I will still be on treatment as I did not become UNDECTABLE until week 6. I am using this trip as a mini goal on the way to a SVR.

Congratulations on retirement, liavera and yes, orphanedhawk has a really good point about leaving some time to recuperate It took me about 3 months to truly feel "normal" whatever that may be....just want to wish you good luck and a trip to treat yourself sounds like the perfect gift...Hoping all goes well for you with minimal sx...treatment is alot easier than it was 12 years ago with 3 shots of interferon a week...:-)
I had zero side effects the first couple of weeks.
Treatment is officially kicking my bum now, though. Shot #20 was last night...
Do allow some time to recuperate from treatment before flying away.
My husband's experience has been that the side effects continuously change over time, with the most consistent being fatigue. Rash was a problem for a few weeks, nausea off and on, etc. As the symptoms arise, he modifies and ma ages as best he can. There's no way to predict.

Sounds like a wonderful plan to me. Celebrate the end of a successful trt, then retire, followed by a wonderful trip. For now, best of luck to you as you begin trt. Try to keep active and modify your daily activities to what works best for you. Keep that positve attitude. Best wishes to you.
"a person normally feels the most sx's during their first couple of weeks."

Not for me. The first few weeks of trt I thought something was wrong. I felt normal, was still cycling at a strong pace, but after week 3-4 the sides began kicking in. As you say, very hard to predict what to expect when it comes to sx.
Sorry that was meant for liavera, I hit her reply button I guess it did not work.
Hi sweetie I sent you a pm , you will do just fine , and you will soon be enjoying your retirement . Take it one day at a time. I am here for you, I too will be starting sometime in new year once all tests are completed seeing hep doc Janaury 4 so I too will be starting the new year slaying this dragon , we will beat it together .
thanks... I retire at the end of the year and want to celebrate with a beautiful trip ... I hope that coincides with the success of my treatment..
my first time... peg/riba ...
Welcome and good luck. will you be doing triple treatment?
My guess is that for most people their sx's seem to lessen depending on the amount of time they have under their belt. Meaning, a person normally feels the most sx's during their first couple of weeks. There is no science to what I'm telling you tho' and the bottom line is nobody can tell you how you will feel. It's always best to have plenty of plan B's for everything you're doing especially if it involves work. good luck moving forward!
