VL up

My RNA wk 8 came back detected 18.  Last lad was <15, so it's up!
My nurse thinks the lab may have made error and made appointment for new test.  Has anybody had this happen?
  I'm having a bad day!
Thanks Shyrl

Yes I saw your note and responded. . .  the sort answer is: my medical team is aware of protocal and not impressed that all insurance in Ontario covers 24 weeks only for my genotype. . . Anything more is out of pocket.

Hi Shyrl, I just left you a note on your journal, but in case you missedit, I just wanted to reiterate, that if you were still detected at week 8 (and congrats on being Und at wk 10!) then isn't the protocol to trwt for an extended period of time, such as 36 or 48 weeks? I am just making sure that you and your Dr arent having a miscommunication or a mix up here~  I know Timothy on here is a geno 3, and he is treating for 48 weeks.

Just an update,
Retake bloodwork came back undetected. (In case anyone reads this thread in future)
They did not rerun same blood, even though the lab keeps some. . . I'm just happy I'm UND @ wk 10.  .  . Going forward with the thought that lab erred, however it will be in the back of mind.  Now just counting down to EOT.
Thanks for all kind words of support and reality!

i relapsed twice after tx.  the last relapse in 2008 my v/l came back  with a vengeace.  30 days after tx my v/l was over a million.  that was on soc.  i agree with ABN, and cando,  doesnt make sense unless you broke thru that same day

Listen to what Cand-do-man said.   I agree.  Try not to stress out about these results.

The same thing happened to me when I was in the last boceprevir trial. Week 6 I was und, week 8 showed detected but under 25... They had enough blood to just rerun the test, my doctor said he had seen this before and not to worry. Of course I did until the next one came back Und.

I know, I'm trying not to think. . . Just back from lab and nurse jabbed me, I knw she didn't mean to hurt me, lol.  Now i feel it all the way to my wrist, and my veins are sensitive, buts that 's another story.  Oh man. . .

I'll keep that in mind, about the VL being much higher if breakthrough, Can do. That's a relief actually, I can do that!   Thanks for your support and yes hoping it's wrong ABN.

I'm always grateful for the knowledge and experience I find here!

Long weekend here, so i'm going to chill-axe, clear my mind.

We have seen that here many times, your nurse is doing the right thing. 99.9 percent of the time if this was a breakthrough your VL would be much higher........ Try (I know) not to sweat it........
