Test results

I had a negitive antibody test one week and then tested positive the next.  Two weeks later I had a biopsy and virus load and both where negitive.  I had the testing done because of some on/off pain in the right upper stomach area.  My liver emysims where a little elavated but I was also taking two doses of Prilosec and one does of Claritin.  Could I still have hep c?

How long does it take to fight off the virus and could it come back?

If you don’t have an HCV viral load you aren’t infected, regardless of antibody status.

If you like, and your doctor feels it’s clinically relevant he could order an ‘HCV RIBA’ test to determine if the antibody results were false positive in nature, or if you were indeed exposed but resolved the infection via your own immune response.

Either way, no infection was present at the time of the HCV viral load test.

Congrats,
