The "Water Cure"

Got a virus thru fbook few weeks back...all my emails were deleted.  Wanted to know (had posted) how Spectda was doing.  Has anyone ever heard of the water cure?  Many books written by a Dr. about it, a facebook riddled with so much pain as a result of disease and bedridden for 2 years is now working, she referred me to a gentleman w/termnal cancer, sent home to put his affairs in order who has no trace of cancer in his body now as a result of the "water cure"...as I have one more appt (next month) w/family m.d. to prove I'm a "reliable patient" and exeriencing unplesant side effects of the virus, this man who was cured of cancer called me this a.m. and is going to give me guidelines (drinking 64 oz of water a day among them, use of sea salt, carbohydrate snacks to absorb the water so I'm keeping it in my body,, etc.)  Just wondering if anyone else has tried this.....and if it helped.  I hesitate to go on this forum as often as i used to as it only increases the anxiety produced by having to wait sooo long to even be referred to a specialist.  even afraid at this point, as my viral load, many mos ago was 7 million plus, that possibly the specialist will want to wait for a trial drug.  am going to try the water cure, it cant hurt, but again, wondered if anyone else has tried it...thanks in advance...cindy

Hi Cindy-
Thanks for asking how I am. I am completing week 16. I've had a lot of ups and downs, but I am undetectable for the virus and managing the treatment as best I can. I hope things are going better for you at home and with getting the right doctor.
Take Care,
Dave

Hi Cindy,

The term ‘PI” as applied in here refers to ‘protease inhibitor’ drugs; a new class of HCV drugs that will initially be used in conjunction with interferon/ribavirin to increase efficacy of therapy. You might have heard ‘Telaprevir’ and ‘Boceprevir’ mentioned in here in your travels; these are both examples of protease inhibitors. There are a lot of new products currently being tested in clinical trial; here are some examples:

Be sure to consult with a qualified medical doctor prior to embarking on any new therapy, whether it's allopathic (western medicine) or otherwise.

Good luck—

Thank you...That's what I thought....people on this site are so well informed,, I'm sure I would have heard/read about it here as for months, i visited this site every single day.
I do have a a quite distended stomach already and yes, I believe this water cure thing may have helped for other ailments (this guy again I'm corresponding with claims it cured his terminal cancer, as I originally posted)... what does PI mean?  Sorry about my ignorance there but i  guess I was just pulling at strings...and as I don't use salt to season my food, the idea of using a tsp of sea salt daily kinda scared me.  Water certainly couldn'lt hurt my overall health.  well, that answers that.  A good friend also emailed me to consult w/my dr before trying any kind of 'water cure'
Trinity, can you pls get back to me as to what PIs are....I wish you all a happy holiday weekend.

Cindy as long as you're not looking for a cure with the water cure Iets hope it can't hurt.  You know there is no cure for hepc except the current standard of care or when the PI's are released to be used in conjunction with interferon and ribavirin.

Some people like to cash in on others misfortune.  I for one feel if it had any merit I would have known about it and long since tried it.

Hepatic encephalopathy is often accompanied by ascites which is a build-up of fluids in the abdomen.  I'm not sure that the treatment for either is water, especially salt water.  Wait for the doctor appointment. "it can't hurt".  You sure about that?
