Is there anything that can be done for the brain fog thing?  I am having a heck of a time this morning, ha...thinking I am suppose to be doing one thing, when I am really suppose to be doing another, can't seem to get it together mentally today....

I write everything down and also starting keeping a diary.  But I can take pills, write it down, then look away for a second and question whether I wrote it down before or after I took the pills.  I do keep the pills in a dispenser by date.  I

I just keep forgetting peoples names at work LOL I will be like um that guy (someone I've worked with for 2 yrs) and they are like Kurt oh yeah Kurt LOL moving on. And i forgot about the insurance which automatically comes out so I'm having to jump through hoops to get it handled before it bounces LOL! I really need a better bill system. Pills I am pretty good with I set phone alarms, but there are lots of apps if you have a smart phone!

That's probably a very good idea, I use to do that with the calendars prior to using my cell phone, which has only really been the last few years... thanks...

You know, sometimes the old school way works the best, the new technology gets in its own way sometimes, at least for me, ha...

You could try doing what I did as a kid. Put a calendar on the wall, or fridge.
At the end of each day, cross the day out. Then you'll always know which day is which.

My calendar is on the fridge. On shot days, I drew a triangle, on lab days a circle. Monthly labs have a double circle.

Hope that helps.

I think if you can figure out a system that works for you and that you will remember, then it will probsbly help a lot.

When I was mentioning my pill lines I never explained why I put the Calcium and the Zofran bottles out in front of the line (not way out front but just a tiny bit) after taking the morning doses. That is my way to tell me that I did take the morning doses but that there are still more doses to take later in the day (which is why those bottles did not go all the way back into the line).

My system works for me. Everyone will problem have their own systems that work for them.

I do think a little organization helps, but then I am normally a very organized person so it is easy for me, even with the brain fog.

maybe if I can become super organized, it will be a trait I can keep for life!  I will take all the positives I can get!  thanks for the advice all!

PS: I also forget which day it is. I always look at my computer date when I am not sure.

One other thing, I had not been up to par for a bit with this rash annoying me to death and I was just tossing mail on the table and not organizing it the way I normally do. I almost forgot to pay the bills this month and ended up having to call and drive my phone bill in to the phone office. Now I am back to sorting the mail as I normally do (tossing most of it, lol) and putting the bills on my checkbook in front of my nose.

I think OH has the best idea. I make notes to myself all of the time, even before I was on treatment.

On treatment I use a pill organizer for the Riba and I have all other pill bottles lined up on the counter next to the pill organizer. I have always lined the supplement bottles up so this is old hat. The pill organizer is new but I knew I had to have it or I would never remember if I took the Riba.

Before the treatemnt, I was taking only one prescription med plus supplements. Now I am taking a truckload of meds for sides, LOL.
This may sound weird but it works for me. First, al of the pills and supplementsI need to take are on the kitchen counter, lined up, right in front of my nose for when I get up. When I get up about 5 to bo to the BR I take my Wellbutrin and Zofran. After taking them, I turn the bottles upside down and put them back in the line. When I get up for good at 7:30 or 8:00, I take my Zyrtec (then that borrle goes upside down in the line). I eat and then I take my Riba (which is in the pill organizer). Mid morning or late morning I take my Citracal +D and B complex. I push the bottles back into line (with the Calcium slightly forward). Early afternoon I take Zofran again and turn the bottle upside down but place it a little out in front of the line. I also take my Vit. D, A and E at some point with food in the afternoon or early eve (and they go back in the line). At about 6:30 I eat and then take my Riba. Later I take the other two Citracal+D, the Hydroxyzine, and my last Zofran for the day. At that time, I get my pills ready for the next day. I place the pill organizer out front and right in front of it I place the Wellbutrin, Zofran and Zyrtec (cap side up). Then I do all of the same the next day.

I started turing bottles upside down after taking them when I started taking the Wellbutrin. I knew I had better not make a mistake and take two 300mg tabs the same day. This works for me and I have not made any mistakes with the pills.

The other thing I do and have been doing for years is to look at my calendar and then on a note pad write down everything I need to do the following day. I put that notepad in front of the pills where I cannot miss it. (That is also where I fix my coffee.) So far I have not missed any appointments except 1 and that was because I was so sick on Inc. in Nov.  that I did not put that date on the calendar.  Believe it or not my Monday list reads: garbage, lab, case manager, injection, lol.

Another trick I have used is to put a Post-it on the door if I need to be sure and take something with me when I go out.

I have to say, those tricks all help me a great deal but they still won't help when it comes to putting stamps on the wrong side of the envelope or driving past my turn-offs. I don't know what to do about those little brain lapses.

I also do not try to do anything I know is not going to work. I have not worked on my geneology since I started treatment. I cannot concentrate enough and my attention span is short, very short, lol. I don't attempt any big projects unless I have to. (I had to gather my tax data and was dreading it. It took me 3 days, lol, and I really don't have that much to gather, but I did have to add up all of the medical expenses and co-pays.)

Anyway, I hope this helps.

There isn't anything you can do other than create ways to help yourself.
Use pill organizers so you don't forget to take your pills.
Make notes to yourself and leave them where you'll see them.
Those kinds of things.

I quit driving because of brainfog.

I feel the same way, kind of like when I take cold medicine and can't focus.  It is making my job quite interesting!
