Don't know about HIV. I am not a doctor just a hep c patient. Try asking in the HIV community
Okay thank you, I believe I did not get HCV as there was no blood on the used disposable needle. Is it however possible for an HIV infection? Or is that also blood to blood contact?
Hepatitis c requires blood to blood contact.
Hepatitis C and Health Care Personnel
What is the risk for HCV infection from a needlestick exposure to HCV-contaminated blood?
After a needlestick or sharps exposure to HCV-positive blood, the risk of HCV infection is approximately 1.8% (range: 0%–10%).
If you are concerned get tested in 6 months if you did contract hep c there are new medicines, better tolerated than the old treatments and very effective.
Get tests, get treated, get cured.
Nothing to worry about either way
