So sorry to hear this. My 22 year old son just finished 48 week treatment for geno 1a about 2 weeks ago. I can't imagine the disappointment to hear it has returned.
Good luck with the Dr and any decisions you make.
Best wishes to you.

What genotype do you have?
How long did it take for you to reach undetectable?
I have tried to extrapolate from your old posts and it looks like you were a slow responder-slow response carries a greater risk of relapse.
It is very disappointing ( I've been there),
You have to make a new plan-if you are geno 1 there are new drugs coming soon which can help you.
SOOOOOOOOOOOO SORY TO HEAR THIS NEWS,MAN I DONT KNOW WHAT TO SAY TO PEOPLE WHO DONT GET THE SVR THEY DESERVE.I HOPE TO GOD THESE NEW DRUGS ARE THE ANSWER FOR U AND MANY OTHERS,THEY SOUND GD TO ME FROM WHAT IV LEARNT SO FAR.
TAKE CARE AND HANG IN THERE,AT LEAST YOUR LIVER HAD A BREAK FROM GETTIN ATTACKED.
I'm sorry to hear of your troubles. I hope you and your doctor can devise a good plan to get you clear. Best of luck to you.

I was a slow responder getting stuck at week 4 with a viral load of around 400 which did not go away until somewhere between weeks 12 - 24. Because I was still positive at week 4 I needed to extend to week 72 to improve my odds. It worked.
I really don't know anything about your details except what I read from HCA above but I am so sorry about your relapse.
Did you find out what the viral load was on the second test?
Find out what the viral load is. IF (and that is a huge IF) it's very very small there could be an outside chance that it was a false positive. I don't want to give you false hope but - this is what happened to me. my 4 week test had a count of 63 and my doctor told me that was not possible...to wait a month and retest. Well i was sure he was lying but I did what he said and imagine my shock when it came back negative..........always has from then onwards and it's been almost three years now.
Thank you everybody for your support!
HCA - I have geno1 (if not mistaking 1b)
nygirl7 - I don't know what the viral load I have now. After I heard the results over the phone... it doesn't matter... I have it, and it didn't work.
I will find out it next Monday 10/12/2009
Larry, I'm very sorry to hear this.
Maybe you can't try again with triple therapy -- SOC plus a protease inhibitor. Telapevir is expected to gain FDA approval by 2011.
Best of luck.

Sorry my friend just pointed out my typo...I meant I was still positive at week TWELVE - I hope it didn't cause anybody to freak out!
I'm so sorry to hear about your relapse!
