i dont know much about new tx drugs but justwant to say good luck and i hope to god you get rid of this time.
I AM GLAD AFTER READING SOME OF THE RESPRONSES TO MY QUESTIONS IT MAKES FEEL THAT I HAVE A GOOD CHANCE WITH THIS NEW MEDICINE.THANK YOU EVERYBODY FOR YOUR RESPONSES.
You may want to know the definition of non-response when it comes to antiviral therapy. So technically, non-responders do have higher odds of achieving SVR with both DAA's, not just Incivek but relapsers and treatment naives have the highest rate of SVR.
A patient is said to have experienced a virological relapse if HCV RNA decreases and remains below the limit of detection during treatment but becomes detectable after cessation of treatment. If HCV RNA rebounds and becomes detectable in such a patient before treatment is completed, this is referred to as virological breakthrough. Virological nonresponse is evident when the serum HCV RNA level remains above the limit of detection throughout treatment and is formally defined as less than 2 log10 decline in HCV RNA between baseline and week 12. A patient who has less than 1 log10 reduction in serum HCV RNA at week 12 of treatment is said to have had a null response.
I am in almost the same suitation as you. but my alt and ast and viral load are very low. My doctor couldn't believe when my biopsy came back F3 and F4. But I just started again with the treatment. My doctor said that the incivek was better for non responders. I have been on treatment twice before. The last time I was clear for 10 months when I got off the medicine it came back again. Just took my second shot last night. Crossing all fingers and all toes and lots and lots of prayers. Hope you make it. You will, you have a better chance now. So do I.
God Bless
Sure you have a good chance this time, make sure your on the right dose for your weight, that your doctor will rx rescue drugs if needed. Sounds like you have cirrhosis so being able to stay on full dose and doing 48 weeks total of tx will be important..... You will know more about your chances when you have your 4 week pcr, your viral load of 738,926 is pretty good but doesn't mean a whole lot at this point.
BTW i was also a relapser with cirrhosis that treated with the other PI and now SVR...... Good luck, you can do it.
