screaming head

3rd shot friday and my symptoms are much more tolerable.i have a lot of fatigue on sunday but still manage to plug along.i have found that keeping out of the bed untill normal sleep times allows me to rest better.the only really bad problem has been a daily blinding headache everyday when i get out of bed.a tylenol at rising 7:00 and one at 1:00 cuts it to barely tolerable.is this normal?also can i upgrade the tylenol to 650 mg time release arthritis strength?

thanks in advance

I was getting headaches while I was sick with a cold because I wasn't doing my neck stretches. health professional showed me how my neck was tightening up and giving me a headache. just maybe

I ‘d be cautious taking acetaminophen in excess of 1000 mg (1g) four times daily. I can’t comment on extended relief. This is assuming no cirrhosis is present, by the way. If in doubt, call your doctor’s office to verify.

I realize that drinking 1/2 one’s body weight in oz’s of water is a rule of thumb. For what it’s worth, I generally let my thirst guide my water intake through the second course of therapy with no ill effects. I typically drink quite a bit of water anyway; but didn’t force it if I wasn’t thirsty. If you're peeing three to four times nightly, you might want to talk with your doctor about reducing the water intake a bit.

Good luck--

Ditto on the H2O! I have found that my headache or lack of is directly related to my water intake. T.

I'm at week 8 of SOC, do the int shot Friday night.  For some reason, my most challenging days are Mon/Tues, especially if I have busy workdays with meetings, etc.  Some days I do have a dull headache, but I've only taken ibuprofen once on a bad day.

As mentioned, drinking plenty of water is critical.  Best of luck and keep up the good work.

I echo coeric on the fluid intake, even some at night which might help easy the headache that hits in the morning. My rule of thumb for sx that weren't extreme - up the water - and it seemed to work most times. Ask your Dr. about OTC dosing for the headaches. I was allowed 2000 mg. Tylenol per day even with cirrhosis, but each of us is different.

Hang in there! Pam

hi ribman,
this is just a wildass guess, but i am wondering if you are drinking enough water. the docs say if you weigh 180lbs you should drink at least 90 ounces of water each day.  half your weight in ounces of water per day.

You have made it to 3 weeks.  Congrats.  Good idea to not go to bed too early.  It is important to be as active as you can.  I don't understand the headaches but I do feel you are still in the time period of great adjustments to your body.  I do think they will ease up.
