hepatitus c concern

HI please advise. I work with homeless people. Today a client who I know  has hepatitus C came into reception and used the telephone. He was sweating heavily. He handed the phone to me to talk to the other person. The phone was wet with sweat.
Since then I have had ear ache. I am also very concerned I have put myself at risk of contracting hepatitus C. Could you advise?
Thanks
Richard

If everyone who used someones phone who had HCV the entire world would be infected in a week. Really. EVERYONE.  not possible. think about taking money from a teller/ grocery store/ gas station/ touching a doorknob that would be the same thing............aint gonna happen.

If the guy he was talking to on the phone also has HCV  then maybe a bit of a concern,,other wise like Bill has said you have nothing to worry about.

HCV infection requires blood-to-blood transfer. It’s not transmitted across environmental surfaces, and is poorly transmitted sexually. The risk you describe is non-existent.
