My infectious disease doc at the VA says they are indeed manufacturing it and even taking orders. It is fully expected to be approved on May 23 (I think) and orders will go out. He said it may take as long as two week for it to be available at the VA. Hope he's right!
It's the old adage " Buy the rumor, sell the news "
I don't know the answer to your question. It makes no sense to me either but an investment banker friend told me that is how the stock market usually works. He said it is the anticipation that makes the stock go up. The actual day of approval gets a very small bump and then settles. We will see, Won't we?
Didn't know about the cystic fibrosis drug. Thanks for the info.

I have to disagree, how could a company stock not continue to rise if they are making billions off of a new drug?
By no means am I an expert on the stock market. However, I am told that stock prices bump up with the news that a new trial drug is doing well. By the time the drug gets FDA approval, the bump up is long gone. It will be interesting to see what happens when Telaprevir is approved. Yesterday's bump was because of very positive news from the cystic fibrosis drug.
Ditto about the cystic fibrosis thing...can't wait to see what happens in May..

Who knows anymore. Wall Street is just a legalized casino :-) The big boys can be in and out of a stock in 15 minutes.
Thanks for pointing that out though James, I picked up a few shares a year ago when I was diagnosed, lol.

I read that the jump was because of results for a cystic fibrosis drug that they are developing.
