Thank you very much.
I'm new to med help and not to choose it as best answer.
I explain that?
I choose you as best answer as it is
You may want to get tested again in a month if it will make you feel better but in my unprofessional opinion I think it would be safe to say that you are negative for hep c
I do pcr test hepatitis because it is very expensive in Argentina
I have no money for it
only the test of public health.
HCV Elisa at 5 months of risk was negative
Yes that what it says but as I stated above if you are not comfortable with that testing an HCV PCR/RNA test which is considerd the gold standard of HCV testing will pick up on the virus at approx 2 wks after possible exposure. .
you say that 6 months is enough ...
but I wonder if 6 months is definitive
thanks
Yes 6 months would be enough time for antibodies to form in your blood from the time of when exposure is suspected. If you don't want to wait 6 months then a HCV PCR/RNA test would pick up on the virus approx 2 weeks after possible exposure.
the link say test antibody at four and six months? is it true? is the antibody test of hepatitis C definitive at six months?
