Your right ,I will make sure I always have a back up, good thing I didnt do what was left in the redipen, when I match it with the other pen I would say at least over half flew out maybe more when I pulled the top off.....
Ive never had one malfunction yet and ive done almost 100 shots total so far in my life...a backup shot is a must
Redipen's are notorious for breaking and jamming. I had it happen several times to me. You have to ALWAYS make sure you fill that prescription at LEAST a week in advance so you have another one in the fridge.
I got sick and tired of them and switched over to the regular syringes eventually - it's no easier to do and you don't have to worry about the power going out or traveling with them or anything. It just comes in a pill and saline water which you mix together and then draw up and inject........they were MUCh better in the long run for a variety of reasons.
My pharmacie was able to get my order in today , so I will be doing the shot soon as it comes in...My doctor said to do it today tues. then back to mondays like before. Got all sressed out for nothing, oh well # 12 today, half way there
You want to do the injection at the earliest possible time. So, if you new redipen arrives on Wednesday, then do you injection Wednesday. As to the next injection, discuss with your doctor but they will probably tell you to do it a week later, so in this scenario Wednesday will become your new injection night. Meanwhile I would call the pharmacy tomorrow and make sure that the shipment is expidited so it will arrive on Wednesday. Of course if you can get a redipen tomorrow from your doc or somewhere so much the better. Try not to stress out. The injection will only be a couple of days late.
Alternatively, if it was a Pegasys pre-filled syringe, I'd say you could inject whatever liquid you have left and then perhaps make up the difference on Wednesday after discussing with your doctor -- however, I'm not really familiar with the redipen mechanism and how you would know the amount you're injecting.
