Well, I'm going to hazard a guess that doctor Gill is assuming that you are genotype 3, so you should probably prepare yourself for 24 weeks of tx if he goes by standard protocol.
Well, Dr. Gill is the doctor and if he is a hepatologist, most people who post here would certainly listen to him. I'm curious as to whether he is treating you in N. America or in S. Asia. The only reason I ask is that the diagnostic tests and selection of medications available may be different, depending on where you are being treated. Good luck.
i have wrritten everythng that i fond to be written hear. i have no other info my doc says yours PCR will be negative in 2 weeks .
He is consultant Gastrologist/ Hepatologist having stara-i-imtiaz....
his name is Prof. Dr. Muzaffar lateef Gill
Maroorf International isb.
It's possible to become 'undetected' in two weeks, but you must continue the treatment for 24 or 48 weks (depending on your genotype). We do not normally start treatment based on a qualitative test. A quantitative test is done to establish the baseline viral load . If you have started treatment (tx) without knowing your genotype or baseline viral load, you will not know how long to treat.
The reason it has been suggested that you post the viral loa report *word for word* is that it is very easy to confuse the sensitivity of the test with the actual results."<12" could mean the actual results or how far down the test is good for. If I have misunderstood anything you have posted, I apologise.
What type of doctor is txing you?
