Liver Damage & New TX

My bad liver has made me a good "liver". I start my first-time TX tomorrow with the new drug Incivek. I am 64 yrs. old. There seems to be a tradeoff, i.e. damaging your liver more hoping for SVR. Does anyone know the damage these three drugs will do to the liver during TX?

I had a three hour class this morning and took all three drugs at 15:00 hrs. this afternoon. Five weeks of drugs cost me a $90.00 co-pay. I got a package compliments of Incivek that has an alarm in it that you can set up to 5 alarms for 5 different dosing times. Wish me luck!!!

My liver iw  already damaged and getting worse without treatment so I don't really see a trade off unless you are starting out with a good liver that you're sure isn't already progressing daily.

CHina, there have been some people whose livers have been damaged by the treatment.  Not many, but it can happen.  What is your liver damage anyway?  I like your statement, my bad liver has made me a good liver.

I was told by my gastro that your liver will not be worse from the treatment. If no success is acheived it will just be the same as if I did not treat.
Not sure if this is the absolute truth, but it's what she told me.
