Dear Tasha:
Thank you so much for your information. I find that many doctors feel that their patients and their families do not have the ability to understand "med-speak" and so don't really properly relay the information required.
Again, thanks so much!
Thaical
There is absolutely no need to sterilize utensils, sinks or dishes to prevent hepatitis C. Hepatitis C is transmitted only blood to blood. The blood of infected person has to get into the bloodstream of another individual to make him sick. This usually happens with IV drug use and sharing needles or blood transfusion, sometimes during medical/surgical procedures if the instruments were not properly cleaned. You can not get hepatitis C through utensils or dishes. If the person with hepatitis C bleeds, you can use bleach to clean the blood.
It is hepatitis A that is spread through dirty dishes and sometimes contaminated food. Don't let the word "hepatitis" confuse you.
just wrote in your journal that i did not quite understand what sinks had to do with all of this unless he cuts himself while shaving for instance... anyway, this is my guess and please i am certain you'll get more answers and accurate: rubbing alcohol (yet needs to be used with caution as you are probably aware...)
