Usually, medications that are used to treat heartburn have serious side-effects. Antacids can make the stomach to become more vulnerable to food poisoning, for example, a potentially fatal bacteria found in raw shellfish that is normally neutralized by stomach juices can live up to 2 hours in presence of antacids.

In clinical studies, approximately 90% of participants reported, the relief of heartburn after two weeks and nearly one third showed an improvement after only two days.
word of mouth is sometime the best proof
Well,if it works for you,i really cant see it doing anymore harm than a script drug.
Thanks again, I guess same old rules apply.
When you take your chances better take them with the natural stuff.

Orange Peel
Extracts from bitter orange peel, or "Citrus Aurantium" have been commonly used in traditional Chinese medicine for many years. Citrus aurantium promotes metabolism, burns fat, increases energy, and it is a general stimulant. Its fat burning effects are useful for clearing fat deposits from the liver. Citrus aurantium’s main active compound is synephrine, which is chemically similar to the ephedra alkaloids found in many over-the-counter cold and allergy medications and in weight loss supplements containing Ma Huang. However, it does not have the adverse side effects of Ma Huang.
who to believe?....seems like there is more conflicting info lately on health foods ...i see lots of misinformation too

Most pharma drugs are made from plant sources....they are just chemically alterated

Drug Interactions
Drug interactions are another danger posed with consumption of bitter orange and bitter orange products. Adverse reactions can occur with the use of prescription drugs as well as over-the-counter drugs. According to the Mayo Clinic, bitter orange can inhibit metabolism of a host of drugs, escalating the amount of the drug in your body and the risk of harmful effects. In addition, those taking decongestant-containing cold preparations should also avoid taking bitter orange products, as side effects and dangers are increased.
Next thing that you'll hear is that ground-up appricot pits will cure cancer. And, that specialized apricot clinics will spring up along the U.S. border in Mexico.
As my Ameican D. says "nothing is free, where's you co-pay FLGuy?"

Sounds like great stuff:
"In the past decade, the use of d-Limonene has expanded tremendously. Much of the product goes into making paint solids, used to impart an orange fragrance to products, and used as a secondary cooling fluid. But the largest growth segment has been the use of d-Limonene in cleaning products. This has occurred in both industrial uses and in household/institutional products. d-Limonene can be used either as a straight solvent, or as a water dilutable product."
I'd try Tang first.
Its just the oil extracted from organge peels, not sure how it affects TX drugs.
