about me

My biopsy revealed that I am grade 2-3 and stage 2 that was in November 2005 since then I decided to try and tough it out, but recently my body has been going through some changes fatigue seemd to be the norm and I have had bouts with High blood pressure joint pains and an enlarged spleen. My family doctors don't think the Hep caused all these things but when I take conventional tx they make things worse. My gi doc seems to think that if I under go tx for my hep and the joint pain goes away then problem solved. I tend to agree with him but now know due to a viral increase going from a viral load of 12,000,000
to a whopping 15,000,000 there is but no other choice but to pursue tx. I just pray I will respond. I have faith that God will use the tx to bring about healing, and know that he brought me here for support from others going through the same thing I am.

Yes, I agree with you, God will always be with us even through the difficult times even when we think we don't feel his presence. Many on forum believe this also. If those willing would pray daily for the health and svr of every person, we will see great things happen.

Someone once said.."prayer is not overcomming God's reluctance, but laying hold of his willingness."

sindog you are closer in Spirituality than you think it was no accident I found this forum and it is no accident I have decided to undergo tx. I may not know what is ahead but God does and He will always be with us through the difficult times.

Jeff,
I started with a high viral load (20 mill), joint pain, and high blood pressure (156/94). The joints in my fingers were so swollen that my wedding ring no longer fit. I have been on tx for 45 weeks. I was undectectable at 24 weeks. I have some joint  pain but only after my neupogen shots (for low white blood counts. My rings slips on and off, no problem. Last blood pressure test 2 wks ago, 106/70.

Some advice: When you treat hepc, find a clinic that specialized in hepc tx. I go to a GI clinic. My dr is certified in hepatology (spelling?). I an treated by his practicing assistant who is involved with research for hepatitis treatment. Her only patients are hepc patients. The tx is tough, so you need to be treated by the best possible. Do some research and don't rush into tx without plenty of knowledge. good luck.

FYI- ALL my joint issues resolved after begining TX. I'm not saying that this will happen for you but just saying it did happen for me.

I had bad hip pain and shoulder pain carpal tunnel and arthritis in hands and ALL gone. I wonder if it was the hepatitis attacking these joints?? I'm in week 15/24 but my relief was almost immediately.

Hi
My local Doctor didn't think that anything even the fatigue have any direct relationship to my HepC - I've been on tx for 3 weeks - the bone aches and pains I had are not longer there - my blood sugar AIC is 6.5 - with insulin - totally unmanageable pre Tx.  My Liver specialist is much more understanding about the possibilities of what HepC may cause - granted the sx of tx is different and some days overwhelming but someday we'll get better.  Wishing you good thoughts and well wishes.

Also, you will respond. The medications will reduce your viral load and your liver will heal. Even if you relapse, your liver should be in better shape than when you started. The faith in god thing is a tough one. The medications seem have distanced me from sprituality (spelling again?). So maybe be prepared for a test of your faith.

I also had a lot of pain's also arm numbness could hardly sleep, withen two weeks of starting TX I felt better in a lot of ways, not to say that the TX is lots of fun but you might be surprised that you could feel better.I found it best to stay busy during TX and not focus on the sides.Even though I relapsed I still feel better than before TX.good luck   jeff

Thanks for your post(s).  Personally, I'd make one slight adjustment to your posting and in the subject line call it
"about my illness" not "about me".  You are so much more than your illness.  I say that probably more for myself than for you, as ten weeks into treatment, I tend to get the two confused these days.  How old are you, what is your weight and what is the genotype of your illness?  I think your faith in God will ONLY help you with this whole process.  Take care, Aiuta
