Sovaldi rocks! SVR!

Hi All,
I completed a 12-week treatment with Sovaldi + Ribavirin on May 3, 2014. My doctor called this morning to say my viral load test that was taken 14 weeks after I ended treatment has come back UNDETECTED. This is considered a cure.

Yay! Happy dance! Jumping for Joy!

For those who are interested in statistics:

Female, age 59, infected with Genotype 2 (nonA/nonB) for 35 years.
Starting viral load = 8.7 million.
IL28B C/C alleles.
Non-cirrhotic. (At least my doc didn't think so based on an unremarkable ultrasound performed 1 year before starting treatment).
Starting weight = 137 lbs., ending weight 132.

Treatment side effects: nausea, fatigue, anxiety, insomnia, dizziness, persistent cough/sore throat/sinus congestion, mild anemia, and slight decreases in platelets, hemoglobin, RBC, and WBC. All side effects resolved within 3 mos. of ending treatment.

I will be having another viral load test at 6 months post end-of-treatment (around Nov. 3).

To those who have started treatment, or will be starting soon:
Sovaldi is our very good friend.
May you, too, be cured and go on to live long and prosper!

P.S. Info on the role of the IL28B gene in hepatitis treatment:

Congrats Sue!

I'm super happy for all SVRs but I have to admit when I see a fellow G2 knock this virus to the floor and stamp on its big, ugly head, my heart skips a beat!

Have a great hepc-free life!

If you can swing it, I would opt for olysio instead of the interferon.  My stats are the same as yours and am doing solv/oly/riba for 12 weeks.  undetected at 4 weeks, six more to go..
