LFTs went during Tx

Hi,
I'm in 16th week of tx (peg+Riba) for genotype 3. My LFTs came back in normal range since I started treating. Now in 16th week they are up again. What could be the possible reasons? Thanks

My ALT and AST were slightly elevated prior to treatment. They dropped after starting treatment and then fluctuated up and down during treatment. I attained SVR and they are normal. The fluctuattion of ALT and AST levels has happened to many people on treatment. We have to remember that there can be several factors that affect the ALT and ADT levels, including the meds we take.

Best of luck.

Thanks Kristina and congrats on achieving SVR. So it's not something unusual (feeling better now). I hope it gets back to normal soon. Do I have to do something for it or just continue and watch?

Congrats on the 16 weeks mark - well done!   My ALT/AST also rose after dropping dramatically at the beginning of tx.  My Dr put it down to either thyroid (which was tending towards hyper, so was being 'watched'), or liver inflammation from the meds and told me not to worry (I still did worry, but I achieved SVR at the end, and the liver counts bounced back beautifully when I finished the tx).
