hgb epo

Hello,

After i stopped the epo because of my hgb was 129,my hgb has gone down from 129 to 121.
My doc say that its normal that the hgb gone down without epo.
Now he wants to check again in 2 weeks my hgb.
Do you epo people think its o.k like that?

Iam scared that my hgb in these 2 weeks go down to a dangerous level.
My.doc said he wants to see where my hgb is in 2 weeks and then decide based on the result if I can continue without epo or if I need epo again.he said that in those 2 weeks my hgb won't go to a dangerous level.
what do you think about it?

regards marc

i hope the hgb is staying around 11,so i no more need to ijnject those thick and unsharp eprex syringes.
the pegasys syringes are so easy to put under the skin compared to the eprex ones.
but on the other side its better to inject epo than be anemic.
my doc said he will have a close eye on my hgb and if needed we start epo again, but for now he wants to see where my hgb is going the next weeks without epo as my hgb stayed over 12 for weeks.

Yes most of our doctors tried to keep us in the high 10s so that we did not get into the high 12 range per the black box warnings on epo.

12 must feel marvelous. I went through 72 weeks at 10.5 and that felt great after that long comeback and waiting for it to kick in and grow some RBCs in the old bone marrow.

Your doctor correctly  stopped EPO at 12.9 as this level  may be  "too high" to continue the drug per the prescibing protocols.

Your HGB at 12.1 is optimum and 2 weeks is not an unreasonable time frame to re-check it..

Best...
