did they used to give shots of gamma globulin to protect a person after being exposed to someone who has hepititus?

My Dr said there was alot of contamination in these shots.I googled it and started reading and sure enough it was there. cindy

Wow, I never heard of this as exposure to Hep C. I was living in Miami in the late 70's. A girl at work came down with Hep A. The entire staff at the restaurant was given gamma globulin at the health department. I guess this may have been the vehicle of transmission for me too.

yes they did.I was one of those people who had to take this shot in the early 80's.My little sister came down with hep A and everyone that was living in the house had to get the shot.
Problem with the shot was that it was made from pooled blood from alot of people and wasnt screened for hep c(they didnt know about hep c then).Some of those shots were contaminated with other diseases. Could have been an exposure of hep C for me  cindy
