Is this something to worry about

I was wondering if this is something to worry about and or is this something that has ever happened.  If a baby of say 1 1/2 years is in a daycare or at someones house and shares a bottle of milk with another baby and they are both teething OR from someone chewing there food and then giving it to them is it possible to transfer HCV. or am I just thinking something that never has happened?

Please let me know

Your baby has no danger. The blood would have to get into her blood stream. If the gums are bleeding a little from teething, the blood is going OUT of the body, not INTO the body.

You need to wait another month to get tested yourself, if that is what you want to do.

Diane12855, Thanks alot, When you say "If thats what you want to do" what do you mean by that? Is the risk too low to warrent testing for something like blood in the eye?

Thanks so much

God bless

I surely hope you have not been sucking on bottles previously chewed by teething babies nor swallowing food previously chewed by someone else.  If so, I would say it's well advised to resist from such activities.  If not, the question is moot point, no?

What kind of 3 month hepc test?  Antibodies can take 3 - 6 months to appear but generally a positive hepc antibody test will appear 8 - 12 weeks after exposure or sooner.  Once a person contracts the virus, even if it was many years ago they will test positive for antibodies.

is a 3 month HEP test reliable?  Also say a person had an exposure years ago, would it still show up on a rapid antibody test if they were tested years after they got it or would it only show up after exposure for a short time?

Thanks
