It's probably best for you to take a step back and get the test done (biopsy). Unfortunately no one here can guess at your exact situation. To say yes it damaged your liver would be impossible. Some folks have hep for 30 years and have low fibrosis. Some have it for ten years and are cirrhotic. It's just not possible to tell without the biopsy.
Any time you put any chemical into your body it must be filtered by your liver to process it out so......if you think of it that way it might have done damage but then maybe not too much.
See that is why the biopsy is crucial. It sounds horrible but it's not painful believe it or not - there are no nerves in your liver that feel pain so basically it's sort of just like getting a needle. Just don't look at it and you will be much better off!
It's a rule of thumb that people with chronic Hepatitis C should minimize the intake of any chemicals into the body.
If I remember correctly, regular use of Mary Jane adds to formation of fibrosis. So I don't think it is a good idea to be using it.
Fibrosis doesn't show up in a liver panel nor and ultrasound scan.
Have you ever had a biopsy? That would be the best way to find out how much liver damage you have.
It is best to abstain from alcohol, if you do not know how much damage there is.
I guess that people with a low stage of fibrosis would be okay to have a drink 3 -4 times a year. But if you had considerable damage it would not be so good.
Wish you all the best!
found out when i was 17 but I think I contracted it in 94 so Im just saying .Im trying to be as honest as I can.Sorry If I offended anyone on here
I'm confused Mike. If you were 17 when you found out you had Hepc and have had it for 15 years, that makes you 32. Were you 10 years old when you contracted hepc?
"Since finding out I had hep C when I was 17,I Honestly drink 3 or 4 times a year and I want to know is that still being dangerous?Or is that still pushing it?anyway let me know"
"I am 25 years old and I have had the disease for 15 years."
