I hope all are doing well!

It's been quite some time since I've been on here and just wanted to let everyone know that things are doing a lot better here.  Not quite exactly great, but a lot better!  It was about this time last year that we got the shocking news that the hubby had HCV.  Already 1 year later he's in the post treatment phase.  (I'll post more details in March after his 6mo F/U).

This Friday he has some tests to check his organs just to see how treatment has affected his body.  We already know from before his treatment that his spleen is enlarged and the walls of his gallbladder are thicker than normal.  Some portal hypertension w/o varicies.  Sadly, at 3 mos post treatment his platelets are still low at 56.  So we are obviously awaiting the results of that to see what the way ahead will bring.  Especially now that we just found out this week that he has gallstones that are giving him problems.  I'm just hoping he doesn't have a flare up anytime soon!

Thanks for letting us know how things are going. I am hoping his medical condition will improve some as time goes on. He is still only 3 months post EOT and it does take a while for the labs to improve and for one to feel better. I know he has Cirrhosis but hopefully he will be a little more stable if he attains SVR. Hoping the Gallbladder is not causing him too many problems. Here's wishing him SVR.

Congrats on your hubby  getting through the tx (and you! - it was a 'family affair' or me too).   I'm guessing he's having a scan and hope the portal hyptertension and enlarged spleen have lessened - both mine were like that pre-tx but did rectify eventually (I didn't have them checked for sometime after finishing tx), and I do remember my platelets being the slowest to bounce back (I don't know why but while the other bloods looked okay the platelets took many many months even though I attained SVR.).
