I never had a fever until somewhere around week 30 and then I started to get them however it was only on shot night not a constant thing.

You definitely might want to check with your doctor if it's an ongoing thing.........just to make sure you don't have any infection anywhere or something serious.

Thank you, my hepa doc told me it is ok if I will take medicine to lower the body temperature for the rest of the treatement, he said that 4 capsules a day for a period of 3.5 months is not a problem. In paralel he suggest to investigate if there is any infection but it might be that it is the treatement itself that cause the fever.

Thank you,
Jack

I'm on week 11 - my temp hadn't risen until this week but I take Paracetamol for the aches, usually for 3-4 days of the week.    I've decided to take my temp periodically when I'm not taking a paracetamol and write down the results - went back to normal again in a day.

I hear that many people do get mild fevers throughout,  but it would be good to write down when and what the temp is, as you don't want to ignore any chest infections etc which can be difficult to recognise if you already have cough/irritation from the riba.

Wow - week 34 - well done, and I'm impressed you haven't taken paracetamol before now!!!!

I don’t know what to tell you about the fever other than it is an sx of the riba. What you’re doing may be the best it’s going to get. I am or was a 1b and started with a cough in the beginning of tx that stayed with me through 8 chest and bronchial infections in the course of 53 weeks of treatment and I had a low grade fever through out which spiked when the green meanies was associated with it. I had been on 4 different types of antibiotics during these episodes but was not able to shake the fever or cough until the meds stopped. This may be the begining of an infection. Congrats in getting to week 34 before this had started and just stay positive and think only 14 more weeks to go. What was your WBC from the last CBC’s?

I got a couple of ha ha’s when I posted the same symptoms back then except mine were associated with peaks of hot flashes, o well, I’m done now and feel much better now.
Good Luck to you.

Jasper

Hi Jack:

What do you call "a fever"?

Because the advice you get will be different if the "fever" refers to a temperature of 99 or a temperature of 101.

Week 25 - still getting fevers between 99.6 and 100.  Not all the time but every now and then.  Had an upper respitory infection a couple of weeks ago and fever went up to 102.  I still thought it was from tx until I started getting a sore throat and cough.  Had to go on antibotics for 5 days.  When I first started tx fever was a constant for the first 3 days after my shot.  Once I hit wk 12 that started to diminish somewhat but I still have episodes.  As a matter of fact I have a fever of 99.5 right now.  I'm so used to it I don't even notice much except my head hurt so I took my temp. Low grade fever is a common side effect from the interferon.  I haven't read anything that indicated riba causes fever.  I just pop a couple of tylenol and feel better in an hour or so.  Drink lots of fluids -  it helps.

Unless you are treating for hepc, no one can really advice you on the origin of your fever.
You posted on the HIV prevention forum that you had unprotected sex with a girl about a year ago and have been diagnosed with sinus infections since.  Have yourself tested if you have any doubts, but as a rule, hepc is not sexually transmitted unless rough sex or blood to blood contact is made.

No, you must see a doctor.  As mentioned, fever of unknown origin can be attributed to many things.  Only a professional can make a diagnosis.
