liver cirrhosis

My mother has HCV RNA POSITIVE,
HCV(g.eq)1,087,488.00 g.eq/ml
HCV genotype 1b
SGOT 48.0,ESR 70mm/1hr
AFP 6.38 ng/ml
HEMETEMESIS &GRADE 2 ESOPHAGEAL VARICES
how serious is the stage considered?
what precautions must be taken?

thanks....she is seeing a liver specialist...
she cant tolerate heat at all......
is it connected wid liver cirhosis.....??
she needs water n ac all da time 2 remain comfortable.....

I assume that she is seeing a liver specialist.  If not, that would be the first step. In addition to what hawk wrote, you may want to consider beta blockers, and regular endoscopies, to help keep the varices in check as a bleed can be very serious. Also, regular MRI studies to check  progress  and detect any suspicious lesions early.  On the positive side, if she takes good care of herself, she can live a long time with cirrhosis.  I

I know she obviously has cirrhosis. You might want to look at the following site:

  She must not drink any alcohol. You may want to do some research about a good diet for those with cirrhosis. I know she shouldn't eat much red meat. Aim for a low protein and high complex-carbohydrate diet, restricted salt, and sugar if possible.
Tumeric is very good for the liver. Ginger is also good.            Good luck.
