milk thistle supplement

I have been trying to find a certified, quality assured Milk Thistle supplement but can not find any legit info. to save my life (no pun intended). Any of you have suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. I have been taking Alternative Med. Solutions' by Lloyd Wright  for years but was just wondering.

Thanks for your response and you speak after my heart. I have never seen any one who would be ignorant enough to ask if there is a proven cure besides the meds, but does it not matter what we eat, DRINK! and how and if we support our liver. Then how come some herbs will be toxic when filtered by a compomised liver?
Of course the pharma people will never be interested in doing anything with alternative therapies yet they exist - Thank God!!
As a matter of fact I have discovered that Milk Thistle eliminated my depression that I used to take Wellbutrin for at least 15+ years. Ok, let us say it is a coincidence - (provided I been taking it for about 2 years) it can not be placebo because I never imagined I can ever get off that drug - and voila just discovered as I started cutting back on Wellbutrin that I do not need it anymore. Not making any claims but still I would say - Thanks Milk Thistle - u r great!!!
There was also an interesting stat on HepCen Update site that almost 60% of HepC infected people in their poll used Milk Thistle.

When I asked both my Gastro and Hepa about Milk Thistle, they both echoed the same answer. "Not proven, but couldn't hurt". I still take it daily...

Puritans pride is also another reputable company, Consumer labs tested there Milk Thistle to be accurate. There are a few thick headed people on this forum that everytime you mention a supplement go insane about it not being a cure. Well no S%*#, But according to my GI and he is a good one it will and does help keep the damage at bay.Not a cure ok just a little help so calm down.

No herbs or supplements can cure hepatitis C. They can not and will not kill this virus. Colloidal silver also can not do this.

Lloyd Wright is a liar. He makes claims that he can not prove. Lately he was writing on his blog that  he can not cure as many people as before because they get antibiotics and hepatitis A/B vaccines. All of this makes no sense whatsoever. He is not even a doctor or scientist. It is possible that he never sat even in one single science class. He is just a salesman-his goal is to sell his stuff, nothing else. Do not waste your money.

You can do a lot of things to aid your liver function. But if your goal is a cure, only interferon and ribavirin can achieve that. There are some new drugs that probably will be approved next year, protease inhibitors. They will be added to interferon and ribavirin and will make treatment much more effective.

lloyds wrights middle name is SELDOM - he may or may not ever had hep c - he may have cleared it spontaneously - happens alot  - anyone can write a book - im partial to the nonfiction ones - colloidal silver - omg - glad you stopped before turning blue - literally and figuratively - i believe antioxidants and amino acids as well as other immune response stimulators are the best bet to aid liver function --- ps ol lloyd has been banned from making claims about curing hep c - bout time

Thanks for all your input - amazingly another reputable blog is where I got Lloyd Wright's supplement info. from and he has a book on how he cured himself from HepC - so I am just wondering...
I do believe in supplements so I will continue but I know that when I tried colloidal silver it gave me terrible stomach pain and my viral load just keeps going up.
Any other suggestions are appreciated.

I’ve been taking milk thistle to detox my liver too.  MT is the #1 herb, it contains silymarin, a flavonoid that aids in healing and rebuilding the liver.  I’ll stop it a month before tx.

milk thistle aids liver function - recent studies have shown the injections are way more beneficial than the pills - the pills must be taken in high doses to be as effective - im not sure about the availability of the injectable form in the usa

Yes save your money and it might save your life, agree with Copyman 100%.  Lloyd Wright is not legitimate - not one bit, it wont do anything to help you or cure you.  If it did ... none of us would have ever done treatment to begin with.
