my 13th week

Well by far the worst weeks 11 and 12,=== undetected at 4 weeks-- the ribavirin rash has really been giving me hell!, my biggest problem has been bathing, the telaprevir, really attacked all my nerve endings. hence the water was like a thousand rose thorns sticking into me, and then the itch was an absolute frenzy,, nothing seems to help, am taking antihistamines, creams etc, sitting outside shivering in a t-shirt and pj bottoms, early hours of the morning, got a cold to boot-now i have finished on the telaprevir, we are hoping that it may settle,, 11 weeks to go, here's hoping, hope everyone else is doing o.k and all the winners are still winners, thinking of all my hep c, friends,

I found some relief from this with a prescription anti-itch pill, called Hydroxyzine, aka Atarax.  It is better than the otc antihistimines, because it doesn't cause dehydration.  They are very small pills, also used off label for anxiety, and may help with sleep. I took them very regularly, one every 6 hrs, and after 3 days of this, I got rid of the itching, have you tried this yet?

hi, great to know, am hoping the hard yards ahead. are not so hard now, but at least i'm over that telaprevir hump, i'm a day at a time, and then a week at a time, because until this rash settles a little, my bed is nearly off limits to me-- anyway, taking steroids for a little while now that the telaprevir is finished, they are hoping it will at least take the edge off the rash, and the itch,, take care, hope you are all free, free of our hepper resident--hugs xxxx
