Since you did have the biopsy I would rely on that more then the fibrosure test, way more accurate and if I remember correct your blood counts like platelets were good. Since you are treatment naïve one would think it would be hard to convince a doctor to treat any different then what yours is doing. The thing is you need to rid yourself of this now and looking at what a 12 week course?
Treatment will be over before you have to deal with much of the side effects, you got a chance to do this at no cost so go for it... Best to you.
thanks for the input can-do-man
my platelets tend toward low end normal
around 150k... slow slide from 200 in past 7 yrs
bilirubin 0.7
ast/alt 80/120
i'm actually HCV, not hbv the other was typo
I have burning hands and feet in the past year or so
which I believe is indicative of cirrhosis
I haven't gotten the meds yet
but my doc submitted the necessary forms last week
costs aside, I can't see why any doc would choose to subject their patients to the known risks and sides of riba and ifn with the new options available
but cost is major issue
I agree, the game plan is to treat and cure
thanks again
