you should ask your GI all the questions pertaining to your tx so that you are both on the same page. If you want Fri to be your shot day, you should start then, unless you are on a twice a week protocol. You can change your shot day  12 hrs at a time, I believe, and never going beyond the seven days.

doctor appt today, hopefully to schedule bx and start meds.  Please, I need to know: If I start meds on a Sunday, can I take the next shot on a Friday? or does it always need to be the same day. thanks.

Low platelets doesn't necessary signify coagulation problems. A deseased liver can throw the platelet reading off. Mine hovered in the low 60's which, of course, caused many a doctor concerns that I would bleed to death when being transplanted. I asked and received both a manual and a lab coagulation test. Manual is performed by a nurse who knicks your skin and times the coagulation process. Lab is done by a machine. The range, if I remember correctly, is 3 to 7 seconds where the lower the number the faster you coagulate.

Hi Got tired of reading across the page on the profiles thread.  You are a wiz with web design. I like the idea. I could not get into the old stuff.  I did not see any excel-type spread sheet on the page - but are you thinking the stats could all be put in columns and such.  I actually sort of started that myself, just trying to keep people straight before the Profile thread.  Maybe I can help with the excel - I can only do basic things - no macros & such.

I am all too familiar with low platelet counts...Started tx at 186 and dropped to 53 within the first 2 weeks.  From that point on through 16 weeks, doc did a weekly platelet count.  It was an inconvenience, but well worth it, he insisted or he'd stop tx.  From what I understand, docs aren't too concerned until they drop below 50.  As mine hoovered around 50 for weeks, he suggested I be careful.  When they are low, it is more difficult to stop bleeding.  My platelets fluctuated between 50-70 for nearly 16 weeks, however, lately they've been between 60-70, going up then right back down.  Tried to convince myself that eating ice cream made them go up!!!  There is a drug called nuemega that can help with low platelet counts if it goes too low.  I would suspect your doctor will monitor you closely until they start going up and level out.  :)
