sharp pain in lower right rib cage extending to lower right back

HELP!!  My friend has been having sharp stabbing pains in her lower right rib cage that has been extending down to her lower right back area.  This has been happening for 3 days.  She went to the hospital and they dont know what is wrong and sent her home telling her to go back if it got worse.  She can barely move and it hurts to sit or lay down. Please help me give her some direction as to what the doctors may be looking for.  She thinks going back to the hospital is useless because they cant find anything.  Thank you.

As Ram says, this is a Hep C board, and unless she has that illness, there's no one here that can really give you input.

Has she consulted with a chiropractor? Could help.
