1st shot last night. Still no side effects.

I took my last shot about 12 hours ago.  Drank plenty of water and had a big meal right before.  I have a slight headache and besides that maybe a little feverish but it is hot and humid out so it is heard to tell.  I was expecting to get very sick right away and when I woke up 4 hours ago I felt fine.  I heard that the first shot is the worst.

Am I one of the lucky people who won’t experience side effects?  Is there anybody out there who had an easy time at first and then experience delayed side effects?  I’m going to do boceprevir for 1a so this is just the start of the lead in period.  Might I start to get sicker on boceprevir?

The first shot is no indication of what’s to come. I hate to be “The Downer” but the truth is, these are some powerful drugs and can eventually put a lot of wear and tear on the body. Hopefully, you will be one of the fortunate ones. Also keep in mind that the sx have nothing to do with if the tx is working or not. I hope your Journey will be an Easy and Successful one, R Glass.

Thanks for your posts.  I did start to feel kind of feverish and slept for 12 hours last night.  Very mild headache.  Overall I was pleasantly surprised.  Hope it stays like this.

Regards

My first shot - a few hours later, I thought, oh this is fine.  I went to bed.  I woke up the next morning and literally looked for the semi that must have run over me.

My first shot was last week at the doctors office. I felt fine at first, but it caught up to me later (fever, chills, sweats, headache). Today I gave myself my shots, was nervous but got through it. The only thing that worries me is the bleeding I had on my thigh, I hope all went in, I won't use the thigh again. Best regards.

Not my office, the GI's office, then a 15 min ride. lol.   They had everything sent to their office and the nurse went over all the injection biz and suggested I do it, since I'd be doing it thereafter at home.

kirk 8 - R Glass is so right, don't make any assumptions regarding what's to come.  Just do your best to manage your day and try not to overthink things.

Same with me.  Did the first shot at the office, was reluctant to drive home, but did anyway.  No fever or chills, but just felt a bit off.  Same with the following shots and wondered if I was taking the real thing.  The sides will likely creep up on you later, but really no way to predict.    Others might have some comment on the boceprevir, but no experience with that for me.

Hope you continue to have an easy time with it.
