I wouldn't know but maybe someone else could chime in.
You don't seem to have much fat in your diet though...Love ginger ale...
You know what I find funny about this whole think. I've spend years eating only low fat foods that eating fatty foods is so foreign to me. What I haven't realized because of eating habits is when you go to buy foods with fat it's very hard.
Re eating and everything else:
speak w/ pharmacist, med company(their 800 phone contact #s = on the literature you should have received w/ the med.), as well as your Dr.
The feedback here is great, too.
I have no appetite(needed to take off weight anyway), but am finding the following tolerable:
Honeydew melon, Activia yogurt(1 tiny container @ a time), and ginger ale.
The ginger ale as you know assists with nausea as well.
Best wishes, folks!
PS just posted a question re: Looking ahead, wondering what natural ways there might be to reduce red blood cell loss(also white b c loss).
Would love to avoid the med that could be prescribed if in fact it's found that our b c counts are falling (--> anemia)
Thanks for you response.
Yes it was suggested by my doctor to take it earlier then the 12 hrs. as he said it will cause insomnia (I haven't experienced that yet)
This morning I did the two together and it will be much easier. He did not say anything about taking together but as you said they don't always have all the answers about these drugs.
I have specifically asked these questions. I will be starting soon.
You absolutely can take the Incivek and the Riba at the same time in the morning. 2nd dose of Riba can be taken after 8 hours of your first dose, which fits with your next dose of Incivek. A lot of people take the Riba every 12 hrs, but I understand that is not necessay as long as you wait approx 8 hours.
I got this info from the specialty phamacist who will be dispensing my drugs. He has been doing this for over 12 years and is apparently very knowledgable.
Of course, you need to confim with your doc, but I am learning that they don't always know ALL the answers about these drugs.
Hi can-do...always nice to see you posting. All is well thanks for asking..and hope likewise for you. :)
streamline.....I didn't notice the mispellings, I had to look for them after you mentioned it. I wouldn't worry about it...nobody's marking your work here. :)
And a lot of misspelling in that last post....
well yes either way would be ok, if you took it at 6am and 2pm then you would need to take your last dose of inivek at 10pm.
Hi trish, hope all is well
No they didn't tell me not to take it at the same time. That was just the times my doctor and I came up with. He seemed as if I should take the riba at a different time as the incivek. I'll ask him at next apt. It sure would be easier if I doesn't make me sick. So far so good......Just lost of body aches but nothing unmanageable
"Or take your riba at 7pm and 3pm."
Uh...course I meant take your riba at 7AM...not pm...doh.
Or take your riba at 7pm and 3pm. I think Incivek is more rigid as to when you take it and riba has alot more slack as to dosage times. Since you're taking fat with Incivek, you'll get it with your riba also. Did they tell you not to take them together?
Yes the ribavirin should be taken with some fat, why not take the incivek at 6am and 2pm also? then you have the fat for them 2 doses at the same time.
Riba is best taken with some fat ( yogurt ) I'm not sure about the incivek.
you poor thing your taking pills all day long
