pruritus 6 montths after Hep C cure

I have been off the ribavirin, interferon, pegasus, regimen for 6 months. At this time there is no longer any virus in my blood.  However the rash continues. Can I expect this to eventually go away, or is this a permanent problem. If it is permanent does this indicate a problem with my liver/

i get them too but i'm not convinced that it's from the meds. my platelets are low and from what i understand processing bile is hindered by one of the organs (not sure which one, mayne the gallbladder) and bile salts collect and rise to the skin. i get red dots and blotches, and what looks like hives if i itch them. not very scientific of an explanation but it's all i have.

Hi, congratulations for the UND.  I am really happy for you.
The rash can take time to go away.  From what I was told it takes about 6 months for the riba to leave the body.
I hope that you improve very soon
It has been 8 months since I finished and I still get some red blotches however they don't itch.  I also had a friend who experienced the rash for a little over 6 months after tx.  You should begin to see improvement.
At this point I would not think it is permanant.
As the above poster said, it takes a year to recover
Good luck.

Congrats on being cured.Sometimes it takes up to a year for some sides to wear off.How much liver damage do you have? Was this a symptom you had pre treatment?
