Could it be?

Hello.  please do not judge me for this but I have been with over 40 prostitutes in Tijuana Mexico.  I have used protection (condom with no evident failures) every time.  I have been tested for all the STD's and came back negative for each one.  I have been tested for hepatitis A,B,C and came back negative for each one.  However, I have been tested positive for fatty liver via Ultra Sound.  I also have elevated ALT (88) and slightly elevated bilirubin (1.3). I read somewhere on the web that slightly elevated bilirubin could be a sign of viral infection.  I was wondering could there be some type of cryptogenic hepatitis virus that is causing my liver symptoms, or am I generally safe because I used protection?  Other factors are I do have a poor diet consisting of mostly Carbs and Fats. My eyes also tend to get slightly blood shot, often more so in the morning.  I also suffer from morning fatigue which makes it difficult to wake up in the morning.  Are there any other tests I could take to know if there is a virus/bacteria in me?  Or should I go with my doctors conclusion that it is most likely diet induced fatty liver.  My body index is 29.99.  Well I posted here because I think the people in this forum are some of the most educated.  I hope someone can educate me.  Thanks, Carlos

I'd go with the docs conclusion on your fatty liver.  By your own description, your diet is poor and high in fats.  Your tests for hepatitis A, B, and C have come back negative. You have tested negative for STDs.  Your BMI is high.

Your habit of protected sex with prostitutes isn't causing your fatty liver.  Your habit of eating fatty things is causing your fatty liver.

Improve your diet and continue to use condoms and I bet you see some improvement.

Good luck.
