NEED SX EXPERT RE: NASTY RASH

hey folks - i am waiting to hear back from my GI who will probably send me to my primary doc who will then send me to a dermatologist, so i just wanted a little info while i wait - it's kinda gross but i'll let it rip ====

i have nasty red rashes on areas of my body.  i am overweight and the rashes (looks like red spiderwebs) are under my breasts, in my groin area, under my tummy and is now spreading to under my love handles on my back. (anywhere the skins meets skin) i have had little rashes here & there over the years, but they cleared overnite.  these rashes appeared within one day and i am still fighting them after 2 weeks.  they started to clear but then kept coming back. there are NO rashes on my legs, armpits, arms etc although i do get little red areas when i inject but they don't look like the same kind of rash

i am 50 yrs old - GT 2b, on pegysus/copegus week 22 of 24 weeks (cleared after 1 month)   i have tried treating them with yeast infection OTC cream, neosporin, gold bond med pwder, diaper rash cream, anti-fungal spray powder.  i shower daily and keep the areas VERY dry

i have never had this kind of rash before so i assume it must be SX.  i did have a few spells of oral thrush and cold sores during the past few months but the thrush seems to have cleared a bit.  has anyone heard of this kind of SX?  while i wait to see a doc, i'd like to be armed with some info - THANKS for any info in advance - YOU GUYS have been such a blessing - thanks >;o)

Could also be inverse psoriasis (interferon can wrek havoc with psoriasis), seborrheic dermatitis,  or a layered combo of several conditions. Best to see a dermatologist as many skin conditions mimic each other and derm's generally are better able to differentiate one from another. My experience is that non-derms tend to over or under treat, using topical cortisoids a bit too freely.

Try oatmeal bath with luke warm water and put olive oil on the rash areas with a damp cloth, it worked for me.

Because of the areas where the rash is, it sounds like a yeast infection.....usually treated with anti-fungal cream and then Nystatin powder.

However, the fact that you also had thrush, which is also a yeast infection, means this is a recurrent problem.  It may simply be caused by the treatment meds affecting your immune system but recurrent yeast infections can also be caused by DIABETES.  Since the interferon can cause diabetes, I would ask the doctor to check your blood sugar (fasting).
